Differences between MYPV solar heating elements that should be taken into account!

In our online shop, among other MYPV equipment (solar control units/inverters) and conventional electric heaters, there are two solar heaters - electric heaters that use solar energy to heat hot water. Although at first sight it might appear that these devices differ only in their capacity, they are radically different devices whose differences become more apparent when comparing their characteristics:
- Power: Linear, up to 2 kW;
- Connection: Direct connection to the solar panels - no inverter or coordination with the distribution grid required, the solar panel system is only designed to power the heating element;
- Simple control by setting the hot water temperature to be achieved;
- Backup mains supply (socket connection, need to set on-off temperature.
Main features of MYPV AC ELWA 2:
- Power: Linear, up to 3.5 kW;
- Connection: to an existing solar panel system - the solar panel system can be used to supply the whole house with electricity, but requires a separate inverter and, consequently, site coordination with the Distribution Grid;
- Smart control with touch-screen colour display to set electricity consumption and operating temperatures. By connecting the MYPV WiFi Smart Meter, the solar heating element can be used to convert excess electricity generated into heat;
- Backup mains supply with separate connection.
Both elements can be connected to an additional heating element for higher heating capacity.
As a result, it can be concluded that although both installations are designed to convert solar energy into heat, the way in which the solar energy is used is drastically different: MYPV ELWA uses a separate dedicated off-grid system for heat generation and water preparation, whereas MYPV AC ELWA 2 uses an existing solar panel system.
In either case, both are capable of producing hot water using solar energy and their product pages can be viewed by clicking on the highlighted product name under the properties.
